Welcome! I’m Lenore Cantrell, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the Director of Clinical Training at APPLE FamilyWorks. We appreciate your interest in our MFT intern training program and I’m excited to let you know about the great opportunity we offer MFT trainees and interns.
Since 1978, APPLE FamilyWorks has been providing integrated, multi-faceted programs for the community. Services include: psychotherapy, temperament assessment and training, therapeutic visitation, psycho-educational groups, and parenting education. MFT trainees and interns have the opportunity to gain experience in most of our programs, which exposes them to working with a variety of populations.
APPLE FamilyWorks’ facility is located in the heart of Marin County with easy freeway access and ample free parking. We provide ten warm and relaxing therapy rooms, including two child-therapy rooms equipped with sand trays and designed for art, music and movement; three large rooms suited for couples or families, and two rooms equipped with one-way mirrors, including video feedback capabilities, which are designed for use in our Family Interactive Therapy (F.I.T.) program.

We offer a comprehensive, multi-systems model comprised of many theoretical orientations including: Psychodynamic, Object Relations, Intersubjective, Control Mastery, Family Systems, CBT, Narrative, Humanistic/Transpersonal, Expressive Arts, Emotion-Focused Therapy, AEDP, and Somatic/Experiential theories and practices. This means that we expose you to a diversity of therapeutic approaches while also giving you the opportunity to deepen your work in the specific approaches that most appeal to you.
