Welcome! My name is Mary Jane DeWolf Smith, and I’m the co-founder and Executive Director of APPLE FamilyWorks. I’m so happy you’re interested in finding out more about who we are and what we do!
APPLE FamilyWorks was founded on the belief that we are all deserving of health and happiness. Beginning in 1978, with Marin County’s first parents’ center, we started off by focusing on the health and well-being of new and expecting mothers and fathers. We knew then, as we still believe, that parents shape the future, and we were determined to be a beacon of education and support to the parents and families of our community.
Building on decades of experience and knowledge we have expanded and deepened our services in order to meet the increasingly complex needs of people of all ages and circumstances. We are known as pioneers in the field of human development, parenting and life skills education, and we focus on designing and providing innovative, effective and affordable services that support individuals and families in times of transition, conflict, crisis and distress.
Whether a parent is seeking parenting consultation, a couple is seeking marriage counseling, or finding effective therapy for their child or themselves, or a family is seeking greater unity and healing ,we offer a caring and practical approach for meeting their goals.
