APPLE FamilyWorks’ ACTT Program promotes the positive development of children through providing temperament guidance and education to school staff. APPLE FamilyWorks knows that early school experience sets the groundwork for a child’s healthy growth and development as well as his/her attitude toward learning school. We are devoted to making that early experience a positive one.
Working in several Marin preschools and childcare centers over the past 15 years, our team of Marriage and Family Therapist Interns, trained in assessing temperament, work collaboratively with staff in:
- Building staff appreciation for the importance of identifying and responding to each child based on his/her temperament as a key factor in the positive emotional and intellectual development of children.
- Bringing a deeper understanding of the unique temperament of each child and how to manage associated behaviors and provide a good fit with the child’s school environment.
- Providing tools and strategies to staff that assist them in meeting the emotional and educational needs of the children in their care and in promoting cooperation when partnering with parents.
